Online PLU-Approved Courses for Teaching Professionals PDF Print E-mail
In the state of Georgia, teachers are required to complete 10 PLUs every 5 years in order to retain their teaching certificates.

The courses below may be of interest to busy teachers who are on the go.  Each of the PLU-awarding courses is six weeks in length, with two lessons issued per week.  One 2-week extension can be granted.  A final exam with a passing score of 70% will earn you 2 PLU credits.  The exam may only be taken once.

Winter 2012 start dates include: December 14, January 18, February 15, March 21 and April 18.

Price per course:  $99

To receive PLUs, you must complete a  Prior Approval Form before you begin your course if you are currently teaching.  It is the responsibility of the student to maintain a record of prior approval for a course.  Your supervisor must sign it.  Keep a copy for yourself and also provide a copy to our Continuing Education office.  You may get a copy of this form by clicking on the above highlighted Prior Approval Form.  If you prefer, you may call our office and request that one be mailed or faxed to you.

Once you have completed the course, print out your online certificate of course completion and send it to our office.  You will also be required to submit a "Student Affidavit" after completing your final exam. Once we receive all the paperwork, we will verify all work through the online administrative site Ed2Go.  You must complete all 12 quizzes and the final exam to be eligible for the PLU credit.  Once all requirements are met, we will issue the PLU certificate and mail it to you.

NOTE: If you are not presently employed as a teacher or do not yet have your teaching certificate, you do not need to complete the prior approval form.  You must, however, notify our office prior to taking the course that you are wanting PLU credit.  Once you have completed the course and sent in your certificate of course completion and student affidavit, we will issue the PLU certificate. When you are ready to renew your teaching certificate, attach your PLU certificates to your renewal application.

Prior Approval Forms, certificates of course completion, and student affidavits may be sent to us via mail, fax or email.
